so the new choke size is about a 631.5..with a 5/8 dowel being .625 diameter.

if that is what they mic at then yes ,i went to a 5/8 dowel rod to allow everyone to be able to go get a 5/8 dowel rod to gauge there chokes.and it being a standard size and it is a bit smaller than the stick i use now as to not eliminate any chokes shooters who have been using .just feel it is a lot easier to tell people what the limit is when asked .also being wood it over time get smaller and my rod was less than 665 do to wear .so this will be the new standard.thanks if you have anymore questions or thought please feel free to text or call me at 540-476-0841

have seriously thought about doing just that ,not checking at all, tried to keep it stock but WAYYYYY to many guns coming in worked that got to be be a pain in the behind to try and catch, someone always trying to push the limit .dont know if allowing what ever choke and just keep barrel limit at 32 if it would be much different than .625 .any opinions and thought are welcome.

Hey deaner20. Just tell me what size you want the checker and I will make you one compliments of B&W. Just let me know what the max choke you want in the door. If .665 is your limit I will send you a checker for that. That means a .664 will not get in the door. Let me know.

thanks hank I may take you up on the offer ,but would want to pay you for your time and material, but I have not figured out what I'm going to do.mite just make it no choke limit .on that note will a no limit choke will it destroy cards at 66 feet or can you only go so low of a choke that it wont pattern no better than say a 625.thanks

First of all I've never seen a .625, on 12GA shoots the tightest you would want to go in my book is .638 and at 66' depending on the shell used and type of gun let in the door they could hit pretty hard. I'm not trying to set up your shoot, but at 66' I would do .675 choke limit, 36" up to 1" OD any kind of choke system and some kind of optics. That would be a fun little shoot. Or you could stick to your 32" stock barrels with any choke system. But I would for sure limit the choke to .675.

They are using winchester super 8's I am using a .665 thor and no where near loading up the card, but have been winning so I'm not complaining...I got John to make me a 665 because thats what I was told we were gonna be able to shoot, would be nice to know for sure because I may have went a bit tighter if it was gonna be anything goes...Lets use scopes now Deaner...

I agree with you hank all but optics 36" inch barrels with scopes you just as well shoot outlaw. Why I said do away with choke restriction was easier for you Nelson hell I shoot seven rounds there one night and got five of them shooting a 681 choke in both of the guns I had with me.

Let me back up some. .675 at 66' I would shoot 9 shot not 8 shot. Wagners are nice at that distance but you can shoot Topgun, AAs or Estates. Should be able to load up the card pretty good with any of those shells.

I agree 9's at that distance 8's 58' to 60' I don't mind shooting 8's just don't like the 3 dram ones be better if he would shoot super sport 8 estate shells.

I say we try to get him to switch to 9's,might draw a better crowd I have people that want to come but when you tell them 8's and $5 a shot they wont come..

How's the shoot owner make anything giving 2 shots a rd plus paying 1st, 2nd & 3rd. Place ?
5rds for $35 is good, paying the percentage per rd. Back for the winner. The most he should do is maybe let 2nd. shoot free the next rd. You gotta have a place to shoot !!

al the shoot houses I have been to Nelson is very very cheap on practice shots...2 for a $1 that's a hell of a deal...no matter what his prices are or what shells he shoots he is more than fair and is a great place to shoot...not many places I have been to you walk in the door and they have deer tenderloin on the grill and or hotdogs at no charge..
